Christopher Russell is co-founder and Managing Director of Mercatus Partners, LLC. He oversees all activities related to development, acquisitions, capital markets, and asset management for the company. Over the course of his career, Christopher has acquired or developed more than $3.5 Billion in institutional real estate assets.

As Senior Analyst for acquisitions and development with Pacific Life Insurance Company (#298 in Fortune 500), he played an instrumental role in more than doubling the size of the company’s equity real estate portfolio. This was done through directing investments in multifamily, single family, and commercial assets. Prior to Pacific Life, Christopher served as Managing Director of Acquisitions and Capital Markets for RedHill Realty Investors, a multifamily owner/operator based in San Diego, CA. While with RedHill, he helped to source and negotiate programmatic joint ventures with multiple major financial institutions. Those ventures would go on to acquire and reposition more than $500 million in multifamily assets across the western United States.

Christopher received his bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s in finance from the University of Utah. He is the father to four energetic young sons, and husband to his better half, Morgan. He enjoys camping, fishing and mountain biking.
